         Mr. Harlan Wagers age 81 of Barbourville, KY, departed this life on Monday, January 9, 2017 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, KY. He was the husband of Annette Robinson Wagers and the son of Sherman and Lucy (Stewart) Wagers born to them on March 5, 1935 in Clay Co., KY. Mr. Wagers had been the owner and operator of Wagers Auto Sales. He enjoyed watching Nascar, but especially loved watching his sons and grandsons race at the Corbin Speedway. On Saturdays you would find him at the races and on Sundays he loved going to flea markets. He was a member of the Callihan Baptist Church.

           He is preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Lucy Wagers, an infant daughter, two brothers, Edward Wagers and James Thomas Wagers, and two grandchildren, Michael Wagers and Hannah Marie Wagers.

          Left behind to mourn his passing, his wife of fifty-seven years, Annette Wagers, seven sons, James Wagers and wife Rowena of Barbourville, Randall Wagers and wife Nancy of Corbin, Harvey Wagers and wife Paula of London, Danny Wagers and wife Lisa of Barbourville, Christopher Wagers and wife Rebecca also of Barbourville, Brian Wagers and wife Linda of London and Clifford Wagers and wife Tracy of Barbourville, five daughters, Glenda Sue Robinson and husband Mike of Corbin, Ruth North and husband Terry of Corbin, Tina Newman and friend Tracy Dockins of Athens, TN, Genople Stancil and husband Jay of Corbin and Tracy Coffee and husband Randy also of Corbin, one brother, Charles Wagers of Hamilton, Ohio and one sister, Daisy Jones of London, KY. He also leaves behind twenty eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren along with a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

          Funeral services for Mr. Harlan Wagers will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Billy Argiropoulos and Joe Shields officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons of Mr. Wagers. He will be laid to rest in the Merrimac Cemetery in Laurel County. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

 

Friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
