Arthur Teague, age 94 of the Cannon community, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at his home. He was the son of Nabe and Mary Brock Teague, born to them on October 18, 1922 at Fount, Kentucky. Arthur enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 and travelled overseas to serve his country. He spent much time in England and was active in the Normandy Invasion. He also served his country in Northern France, Germany, Holland and Belgium. He received the Purple Heart medal, the Five Star Sharp Shooter medal and a Good Conduct ribbon for each nation. He was discharged from service in December 1945.

Arthur then moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1951 where he worked at Union Carbide in Speedway Indiana for 33 years. In July 1966, he united in marriage to Dorothy Daniels who preceded him in death in 2000. He loved going to church and was a member of the Friendship Holiness church. He also enjoyed gospel music, watching The Price Is Right, travelling and going to Cracker Barrel.

Along with his parents and wife Dorothy, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Stella Teague, Nancy Teague, Mamie Edith Teague & Bessie Reynolds. Three brothers: Boyd, Mack and Charlie Teague. Three brothers-in-law: Reed Rice, Eugene Reynolds and Leon Maynard. One sister-in-law, Della Teague.

Arthur is survived by one brother: Louis Teague of Milford, Ohio. Two sisters: Lucy Rice of Bimble, Kentucky and Francis Maynard of Clifford, Michigan, and a special niece, Cleo Smith with whom he made his home.  He is also survived by a host of friends and relatives left behind to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Arthur Teague will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. David Rice and Rev. Ed Arthur Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Dozier Cemetery at Bimble with Steven Smith, Adam Smith, Cody Smith, Michael Rice, Lynn Snyder and Charlie Rice serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Holiness Church and nurses of the Knox County Home Health and Hospice of the Bluegrass.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
