Velma Magdelene (Hagler) Payne

       Mrs. Velma Magdelene (Hagler) Payne age 92 of Rockholds, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky. She was born on October 28, 1928 in Mary County, Georgia the daughter of the late Willie Hagler and Josie (Singleton) Hagler. She believed in the Baptist faith and was a homemaker.

       She is preceded in death by her husband Noble Glen Payne and her special friend Roy Hutton, six children, William “Bill” Payne, Anna Lois Theiss (Bob), Jerry Helton, Nick Payne, James Payne and Roger Payne.

      Survivors include, one son Ronny Helton and wife Sherri and one daughter, Barbara Johnson and husband Foster, twenty-seven grandchildren, sixty-four great grandchildren and thirty-five great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

      A graveside service for Velma Payne will be held at the Barbourville Cemetery on Saturday, July 24, 2021 AT 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Scott Wilson officiating. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
