Valerie Jeanne (Vaughn) Southerland

      Mrs. Valerie Jeanne Southerland age 51 of Flat Lick, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 in the Barbourville ARH. She was the wife of Bobby Southerland who she united in marriage with on May 3, 1997. She was the daughter of Randall and Scarlet (Baker) Vaughn born to them on March 28, 1970 in Middletown, Ohio. Valerie had worked as a cook at the Yellow Creek School in Middlesboro. She enjoyed going on vacations, Bingo, shopping and being with her family.

      She is preceded in death by one sister, Emily Vaughn.

      Left behind to mourn her passing, her husband Bobby Southerland of Flat Lick, her parents, Randall and Scarlet Vaughn of Trenton, Ohio, four sons, Corey Vaughn of Trenton, Ohio, Michael Kendrick of  Franklin, Ohio, Jason Southerland of Flat Lick and Sean Southerland of Anchorage, Alaska, one daughter, Tabitha Southerland of Monticello, Kentucky, three grandchildren, Seth Maynard of Monticello and June and Maria Kendrick of Franklin, Ohio. She also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends.

      Funeral services for Mrs. Valerie Jeanne Southerland will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Brandon Dunn officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

      Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 14, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
