Paula Faye (Gallagher) Mills

      Mrs. Paula Faye (Gallagher) Mills age 72 of Barbourville departed this life on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in the St. Joseph Hospital in London. She was born on July 30, 1949 in Barbourville, Kentucky, the daughter of John Paul Gallagher and Geneva Faye (Garrison) Gallagher. On June 3, 1967, she united in marriage with Jerry Wayne Mills and to this union three sons were born. Mrs. Mills had been a teacher at GR Hampton Elementary School for twenty-seven years before retiring. She was a long-time member of the Swan Pond Baptist Church where she was the women’s Sunday School Teacher. Paula dearly loved her church and loved teaching. She also was a great supporter of mission work.

      She is survived by her three sons, Michael Allen Mills and wife Krista of Barbourville, Paul Jeffrey Mills and wife Jana of London and Brook Scott Mills and wife Sarah of Barbourville, ten grandchildren, Madison Lee and husband Sam, Trevor Mills and Tanner Mills all of Barbourville, Alyson Thompson and husband Seth of Eielson Airforce Base in North Pole, Alaska, Megan Mills and Braden Mills of London, Abram Mills, Laura Beth Mills, Michael Mills and Loretta Mills all of Barbourville, two great-grandchildren, Isabel Thompson of North Pole, Alaska and Harrison Lee of Barbourville, one sister, Margaret Druscilla (Gallagher) Witkoski of Columbia, South Carolina, three brothers and sisters in law, Jackie and Bob Barton of Somerset, Tommy and Cloye Mills of Mt. Vernon and Jimmy and Judy Mills of Rockhold. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

      Funeral services for Mrs. Paula Mills will be conducted at the Swan Pond Baptist Church on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael Deland, Rev. Josh Smith and Scottie Partin officiating. Pallbearers will be, Trevor Mills, Tanner Mills, Abram Mills, Braden Mills, Mikey Mills and Sam Lee. She will be laid to rest in the Goins Family Cemetery in Apple Grove. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

      Friends will be received at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
