Melissa (Maiden) Mayne

              Mrs. Melissa “Lissie” (Maiden) Mayne, age 96 of Barbourville departed this life on Friday, July 13, 2018 in the Barbourville Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on December 20, 1921 in Knox Co. and was the wife of the late Willie B. “Bill” Mayne. She was the daughter of Wesley Maiden and Minerva Miracle Partin Maiden. Mrs. Mayne was a member of the Advent Christian Church. During the 1940’s she worked in Detroit, Michigan for Cadillac where she was an airplane parts inspector. She was a good Christian woman who always relied heavily on her faith.

            She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, five brothers, Gilford Maiden, Shelt Maiden, Felip Maiden, Wesley Maiden, Jr and Silas Maiden and one sister Marie Hyder.

           Left behind to mourn her passing is her daughter Phyllis Klinger and husband Don of Springdale, Arkansas, two sons, Terry Mayne and wife Donna of Panama City, Florida and Ron Mayne of Vernon, Florida, five sisters, Minerva Partin of London, KY, Betsy Smith of North Olmsted, Ohio, Lois Smith of Dry Ridge, KY, Sarah Logan of Barbourville and Jean Burch of Cincinnati, two grandchildren, Dennis Mayne and wife Katie of Arlington, Virginia and Tiffany Twitty and husband Lamont of Phenix City, Alabama and three great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. 

          Funeral services for Mrs. Mayne will be conducted on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Evans officiating. Burial will be private. 

Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
