Linda Morris Obituary

 

               Mrs. Linda Sue (Lumpkins) Morris was born at Cannon Kentucky to the late David & Lela Doan Lumpkins on August 10, 1948. Linda went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 8, 2020. On September 14, 1963, she united in marriage with Carl Gene Morris.

              Linda and Gene raised a special cousin, Carol (Bobby) Carmack, two daughters, Freda (Darryl) Smith, Sheila (Stacy) Abner and a son Bill (Ashley) Cox. She also leaves behind one grandson, Nick (Candace) Smith, three granddaughters, Andrea (Will) Stewart, Stacia Abner and Drew, Shyann Abner and Devon, Great Grandbabies, Olivia Smith, Sydney Stewart, Liam Stewart and two special little boys, Tobin and Lincoln and a sister Bonnie (Ray) Howell.

             Linda is preceded in death by her mother and father in law, Carl and Georgia Morris, a brother in law, Ralph Hudson and a niece, Sandy Hudson.

             Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Morris will be conducted at the Apple Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Vernon Morris, Rev. Justin Morris, Rev. Johnny Fisher and Rev. Roy Vaughn officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Morris Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Smith, Nathan Ledington, David Burton, Arnold Riley, Denny Ray Mills, Edwin Hensley, Nick Smith, Jason Daniels, Mike Hubbard, Clayton Gray, Todd Partin, Will Stewart, Ethan Carmack and E.G. Abner. Honorary pallbearers will be The Adult Sunday School Classes at Sinking Valley Baptist Church and Apple Grove Baptist Church, Bobby Carmack, Ray Howell and Pete Evans and special friends, Joann Shelton, Anna Lee Brewer, Ruth Taylor,  Paulette Watson, Joyce Morris and Joyce Martin.  Honorary ministers are Rev. Bobby Abner, Rev. Dwaine Smith and Rev. Nathan Ledington. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Friday evening Feb. 14th from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday Feb. 15th  at Apple Grove Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
