Katherine "Kathy" Kay (Rice) Myers

      Mrs. Katherine “Kathy” Kay (Rice) Myers age 64 of Rockholds, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, September 30, 2023 in the UK Medical Center in Lexington. She was the daughter of Henry Clyde Rice and Helen Jean (Partin) Rice, born to them on October 20, 1958 in Knox County.

     Katherine was a thoughtful woman who loved her family fiercely and quietly. She had a great sense of humor, loved classic rock and country music and enjoyed simple things like watching Jeopardy and the Kentucky Wildcats play basketball. 

      She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Helen Rice and four brothers, Kenny, Ronnie, Henry Clyde “H.C.” Rice, II. and Troy Dean Rice.

      Left behind to mourn her passing, her daughter Shanna Rashelle Hitchcock and wife Brandi of Griffin, Georgia, one granddaughter, Jolene Helen Hitchcock of Georgia, her husband Randall Myers of Rockholds, seven siblings, Carolyn Laing of Rockholds, Judy Gibson and husband Paul Estil of Richmond, Mary Cornelia Garland and husband Daniel of Rockholds, Jimmy Ray Rice and wife Betty Sue of Alabama, Johnny Rice, Gary Wayne Rice and wife Charlene and Steve Rice all of Rockholds. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

      Funeral services for Mrs. Kathy Myers will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with with Rev. Jeffrey Branum officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

      Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
