Johnnie Smith Obituary
Mr. Johnnie Smith (also affectionately known as John, Big John and Tiny), age 70, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at his home in Cannon, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Richard and Nellie (Mason) Smith, born to them on October 3, 1948 in Fount, Kentucky. He was a member of the Christian faith and loved watching sports.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Nellie (Mason) Smith, infant daughter Nellie Mae Smith, brothers Earnest Smith, Sr., Randall Smith, sister Cleda Jackson and brother-in-law Lonnie Jackson.
Left behind to mourn his passing are brother Beve Smith of Berea, Kentucky, sisters Anna Mae ‘Shorty’ Palte and husband Robert ‘Poke’ of Beaver Dam, Ohio, Ada Shannon and husband Wayne of Knoxville, Tennessee and Martha Gail Whitt of Lima, Ohio. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Johnnie Smith will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 4:00 p.m., with Reverend Jabe Smith and Vernon Morris officiating, in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Saturday, December 29th from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 4:00 p.m.
