Geneda (Cole) Gray

      Geneda (Cole) Gray age 82 of Barbourville, departed this life on Thursday, July 14, 2022, in the Barbourville ARH Hospital. She was born on May 15, 1940, the daughter of Hudson and Maude (Williamson) Cole. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hudson and Maude, four brothers, Homer Cole, Herbert Cole, Lowell Cole, and Jimmy Cole, four sisters, Cleadie Mills, Alta Eagle, Emma Mills and Doris Favio.

      Geneda was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She had served as loan officer and Vice-President of Commercial Bank, formerly Union National Bank, in Barbourville for many years. She also obtained her real estate license. She enjoyed traveling and shopping and when at home she loved to cook and bake. She was a devoted mother and loving aunt who will be greatly missed.

      Left behind to mourn her passing, her loving daughter, Karen Gray of Barbourville, one brother Farris Cole and wife Lavina of Flat Lick, two sisters, Marie (Cole) Jordan of Hamilton, Ohio and Jean (Cole) Withrow of Four Oaks, North Carolina, special caregivers, Donna Lankford and Sabrina Garland and her family physician and special friend, Dr. Raju Vora. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

      Funeral services for Geneda Gray will be conducted on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Russell Jones officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

      In liue of flowers donations may be made to Northside Baptist Church in her memory. 

      Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
