Erma Lee Bingham

Mrs. Erma Lee Bingham, age 85, departed this life on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at her home in Barbourville, Kentucky.  She was the daughter of Leonard and Sally (Smith) Bargo, born to them on August 27, 1933 in Stinking Creek, Kentucky, and was the wife of Don I. Bingham.  Erma was a a hairdresser for more than 45 years, a member of First Baptist Church and a long-time member of the Knox County Hospital Auxiliary and Knox County Homemakers.

She is preceded in death by her husband Don I. Bingham, parents Leonard and Sally (Smith) Bargo, son-in-law Rick Hammons, brother Curtis Bargo and brother-in-law Franklin Garland.

Left behind to mourn her passing are son Mike Bingham and wife Teresa of Bimble, Kentucky, daughter Eryleen Hammons of Bimble, Kentucky, grandchildren Don Hayes Hammons and wife Andrea of Flat Lick, Kentucky, Jaxon Hammons and wife Wendi of Flat Lick, Kentucky, Brandon Bingham of Richmond, Kentucky, Brooke Bingham of Richmond, Kentucky, and Dawson Bingham of Bimble, Kentucky, great grandchildren Breydon Mills, Jordan Mills, Kylie Mills, Evan Hayes Hammons, and Drew Thomas Hammons, brothers Ted Bargo and wife Barbara, and Denny Bargo and wife Jackie, both of Barbourville, Kentucky, sisters Irene Garland, Kathleen Smith and husband Boone, Carolyn Sue Smith and husband Otis, and Sandy Ledington and husband Gary, all of Barbourville, Kentucky, sisters-in-law Jane Bargo of Artemus, Kentucky, Barbara Bingham of Bimble, Kentucky, and Janice Bingham of Barbourville, Kentucky.  She also leaves behind a host of many relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers Pam Bargo, Geneva Smith, Wanda Mills, Knox County Home Health, Dr. Pedersen, Michelle Broughton and the staff of Baptist Health Medical Group Family Medicine. 

Funeral services for Mrs. Erma Lee Bingham will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Cleo Goodlett officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Binghamtown Cemetery at Flat Lick, Kentucky.  Pallbearers will be Don Hayes Hammons, Dawson Bingham, Jeremy Bargo, Chandler Bargo, Alan Tye Ledington and Nick Boles.  Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
