Cassie Lee Smith

          Mrs. Cassie Lee Smith age 72 of Barbourville departed this life on Monday, June 18, 2018 in the Barbourville Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of Harvey Gilbert Robinson and Polly (Smallwood) Robinson born to them on October 26, 1945 in Laurel Co., KY. On February 10, 1961, she united in marriage with Jabe Smith and to this union eight children were born. She was a member of the Himyar Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Cassie enjoyed taking care of her family, shopping, gardening and being with her grandchildren.

          She is preceded in death by her parents and husband along with one son Jerry Smith, a grandchild, Cassie Lora Nicole Smith and two brothers, John Mitchell Robinson and Jerry Robinson.

          Left behind to mourn her passing, her loving children, Kenneth Smith and wife Carolyn, Jabe Dewayne Smith and Curtis Allen Smith all of Barbourville, Shelia Galindo and husband Jim of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sharon Stewart of Barbourville, Helen Frase and Nile, Jr. of Pleasant View, TN , one brother, Clifford Robinson and wife Rowena of Barbourville, three sisters, Annette Wagers of Barbourville, Virginia Argiropoulos and Rev. Billy R. of Clearwater, Florida and Genople Robinson of London. She also leaves behind eighteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

          Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Don Smith and Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. She will be laid to rest in the Hutchinson Cemetery at Bailey Switch. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
