Billy Ray Singleton

              Mr. Billy Ray Singleton age 81 of Artemus, KY departed this life on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was the son of William Bryant Singleton and Edna Mae Alred Singleton born to them on May 10, 1938 in Artemus. He believed in the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting and mowing and taking care of his property. He retired from General Motors corporation where he worked in  parts distribution.  He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Edna Singleton, two sons, Billy Irwin Singleton and Matthew Bryant Singleton and three brothers, Thomas, Arnold and Elmer Singleton.

              Those left behind to mourn his passing, his loving daughter, Karen Scheffer and husband Francis of Waterford, Michigan, two grandchildren, William Singleton and wife Meghan and Sarah Boadway and husband Alan and two great grandchildren, Aubrie and Addie Singleton, one brother, Johnny Singleton and Mae of Harlan, KY and three sisters, Ella M. Haldorf and husband Jim of Artemus, Joyce Zamponi and husband Charles of Harrison, Township, Michigan and Joan Scorof of Wilkesboro, North Carolina. He also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins along with two very special friends Frannie Epperly and Shelby Bowling.

            Funeral services for Mr. Singleton will be conducted on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Sizemore officiating. Pallbearers will be Shelby Bowling, Christopher Napier, Jonathon Singleton and William Warren. He will be laid to rest in the Sowders  Cemetery at Artemus, Kentucky. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements. 

          Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Friday evening, June 28, 2019  from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.
