Terri Hammons Brown, age 78 of Barbourville, Kentucky, was born in Dewitt, Kentucky on July 2, 1947, and passed on July 30, 2025 at Corbin Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Terri is survived by her son, Roger Hammons and fiancée Dulce Hernandes, stepson Michael Brown, grandchildren, Whitney and Kristen Magoteaux of Troy, Ohio, Kori and Dave Krugh of Piqua, Ohio, Hayley Hammons and fiancé Jacob Engle of Barbourville, and a great grandchild, Charlie Kay Magoteaux of Troy, Ohio, her siblings, Vina Kirk, Morene Burch and husband Jim, Sharron Snyder, Betty Vanover and husband Homer, Michael Graham and girlfriend Donna Vault, Lynn Sowders and husband Ancil and Connie Mills and husband Randy, sister-in-law, Axie Katherine Corey, brothers-in- law, Wendell Hammons and Don Jeffries, former sister-in-law, Betty Davenport, special friend and caregiver, Reba Chappello, and Dulce’s sister Karina Rivas and husband Roger. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her previous spouses, Waldo Hammons and Wiley Brown, her parents, William Farmer Graham and Cordia Gambrel Graham, siblings, Bill Graham and Lewis Graham, Eunice Williamson and Jean Honaker and brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie Kirk, Dean Snyder, Sheila Graham, Bill Corey, Pauline Jeffries, Shirley Graham, Sharon Graham, Jerry Honaker and J.B. Williamson, and nephews/nieces, Jeff Clouse, Lori Graham, Douglas William Kirk, and Teddy Price.
Terri was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Mamaw T), great-grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor and friend. Terri’s positive and loving personality shown bright. Her smile and laughter would light up the room. Terri had a big heart who loved unconditionally those who were lucky enough to be a part of her life. She was both gentle and strong, as a pillar of her family. Terri was a dedicated member of East Barbourville Baptist Church which was a special place for her with warm and caring friends and neighbors She enjoyed collecting teapots and Fostoria glassware, scrapbooking and shopping with her sisters, spending quality time. She was known for her love of gardening and farming, growing tomatoes and corn and taking care of her pet goats. During harvest season, she would sit in her rocking chair on her porch snapping beans and waving at friends as they drove by. Cooking was a way for Terri to share her love, and it brought her joy to feed everyone that came to visit her. Her dumplings and peanut butter roll were sought after by everyone as special treats. Terri cherished her family and friends, surrounding herself with photographs of treasured memories. She loved spending time with her son and his fiancé Dulce enjoying a good steak or lobster every chance she had. Brunch at Cracker Barrell with her beloved grandchildren was a special treat she looked forward to. In the evenings she would sit in her recliner with her dear cat Tinkerbell on her lap while she talked to her sisters and brother before bedtime.
Visitation for Terri will be held at the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
There will be a private funeral service and burial on Sunday, August 10th, with Rev. Dennis Hammons, Rev. Steve Ross and Rev. Josh Smith officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Burch, Jamie Burch, Joey Clouse, Bob Corey, Jeff Corey, Mike Corey, Jacob Engle, Curtis Graham, Skip Hammons, Doug Kirk, Dave Krugh, Josh Mills, Darris Price, Tim Price, Roger Rivas and Chris Vanover. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Campbell, Mike Calebs, Don Jeffries, Joe Montgomery, Ed Parsley, Jack Sears and Henry Warren.
