Richmond Lee Champion, Jr.

Mr. Richmond Lee Champion, Jr. age 79 of London, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, October 18, 2026 in the St. Joseph Hospital in London. He was born on June 22, 1947 in Letcher County, Kentucky, the son of Vollie Richmond Champion and Oma (Collier) Champion. Mr. Champion served his country in the United States Air Force and believed in the Presbyterian faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Vollie and Oma Champion, his wife Alberta Louise (Steman) Champion, a grandchild, Michelle Angel and a great-grandchild, Whitley Shelton.

Left behind to mourn his passing, his beloved children, Oma Alliene Hutton and husband Burl, George Douglas Champion and wife Tammy and Richmond Lee Champion, Jr. all of London, two siblings, Wanda Sue Scoville and husband Gary of East Bernstadt and Everett Lee Champion and wife Sue of South Carolina, nine grandchildren, Dawn, Timothy, Nickole, Courtney, Darian, Cayden, Dawson, Jessica and David, twenty great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026 from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home.
