Randall Wayne Merida

Randall Wayne Merida, age 79 of Hinkle, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, August 17, 2025, in the St. Joseph Hospital in London. He was born on April 20, 1946, in Knox County, the son of Nasby and Della (Baker) Merida. In 1962, he united in marriage with Joyce Jordan and to this union five children were born.

Randall was a member of the Greenroad Baptist Church. He had been an independent truck driver and drove for many different companies. He loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren, and will be remembered for being a collector of many things.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nasby and Della Merida, his brothers, Junior Merida, Charlie Merida, Rudy Merida, Frank Merida, Ernest Dean Merida and Lonnie Merida, one infant sister, a grandson, Carlin Merida, a granddaughter, Danyl January, his mother and father in law, Wesley and Ollie Jordan, brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack Jordan, Gracie Garland, May Hicks and Marilyn Merida.

Left behind to mourn his passing, his loving wife of sixty-one years, Joyce Merida of Hinkle, sons, Dean Merida and wife Jeanne of Land O’ Lakes, Florida, Lonnie Merida and wife Melissa of Cambridge City, Indiana, daughters, Sonja Sifrit and husband Robbie of Punta Gorda, Florida and Gail Yother and husband Dether of Rockholds, Kentucky and son Randy Merida and wife Tamara of Mazomanie, Wisconsin. He also leaves behind eighteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Randall Merida will be conducted on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Greenroad Baptist Church, 8184 North KY 11, Greenroad, Kentucky 40946. Rev. Mickie Smith will be officiating.

Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 3:00 p.m.
