(Joe) Densil Murphy, age 72, of London, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
He leaves behind two daughters, Paula Hall & husband Brad of London, KY, Melissa Hammer & husband Michael of Corbin, KY; two siblings, Carol Carmack & husband Bobby of Bimble, KY, Paul Murphy & wife Michelle of Whitesburg, KY; four grandchildren, Joshua M. Werner, Tyler Hoskins, Tristan Hall, Socorra Hall; four great grandchildren, Joshua C. Werner, Brantley Werner, Mylah Hoskins, Kylan Hoskins; two great, great grandchildren, Grayson Werner, Ella Werner; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Tina Murphy; his parents, Densil & Geneva Doan Murphy; his grandson, Travis North; a special aunt, Lela Lumpkins; and by his grandparents, George & Ethel Doan.
Joe worked many years for the American Greeting Card Company where he took great pride in his work and valued the friendships he made throughout his career.
In his free time, Joe found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time fishing, gardening, and caring for his flowers. Whether working outdoors or enjoying the beauty of nature, he found peace and contentment in the things he loved most.
More than anything, Joe treasured his family. His grandchildren were a special source of pride and happiness, and he delighted in every opportunity to spend time with them, creating memories that will be forever cherished.
Joe will be remembered for his gentle spirit, hardworking nature, and the love he shared with those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service honoring (Joe) Densil Murphy will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Stanley Proffitt and Jack Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Rough Creek Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home.
