Earnest Jackson, Jr.

Mr. Earnest Jackson, Jr. age 90 of Corbin, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 in the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. He was the husband of Carolyn Sanders Jackson and the son of Earnest Jackson and Edna Sears Jackson born to them on August 22, 1936 in Knox County.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Edna Jackson and siblings, Marie Sandfer and husband J.W. “Pete”, Reda Jarrett and husband Robert, Betty Jackson, William “Bill” Jackson and wife Lavena and Glen Edward Jackson.

Left behind to mourn his passing, his loving wife of thirty-three years, Carolyn Sanders Jackson of Corbin, two daughters, Michelle Workman and husband Robert of Frenchburg, Kentucky and Susan Walker and husband Scott of Thorntown, Indiana, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Jackson will be conducted in the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. with Jerry Jackson and Tony Jarrett officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Terrell Cemetery with pallbearers Randy Smith, Eric Smith, Tony Jarrett, Sonny Sandfer, Charles Jackson, Jerry Jackson and Floyd Blevins. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.
