Mr. Billy Ray Hammons, Jr. age 45 of Corbin, KY passed away on Sunday – February 6th, 2011 in Knox County. He was the son of Billie Ray Hammons & Wanda (Mills) Hammons. Born to them on June 5th, 1964 in Hamilton, Ohio.
Billy was a member of the West Corbin Baptist Church and enjoyed music, traveling, and reading the Bible. He was a former plant manager and land surveyor.
Survivors include his parents Billie Ray Hammons of Artemus, KY and his mother Wanda Hammons of Corbin, KY, one son Christopher Neal Hammons & wife Haley of Frankfort, KY and one daughter Brittany Nicole Adkins & husband Matthew of Corbin, KY, two brothers Jeff Hammons & wife Dana of London, KY, and Gary Hammons & wife Jennifer of Lexington, KY, three grandchildren Matthew Ryan Adkins, Breanne Nicole Adkins, and Alexis Kay Hammons. Plus several aunts & uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Hammons will be conducted on Wednesday – February 9th, 2011 @ 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Sam Smith officiating. Pallbears will be family & friends’ .Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends may call at the Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00.
