Armarita Mills

Armarita Mills, age 87 of Flat Lick, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, November 2, 2025. She was the widow of Ben Mills, Jr. and the daughter of Monnie Curtis Bush and Estelle Jane Bush born to them on November 1, 1938 in Lee County, Virginia.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ben Mills, Jr., her son, Gregory Ben Mills, a brother, Monnie Bush, Jr., a son-in-law, Lowell Bingham and her parents, Monnie Curtis and Estelle Bush.
She was a member of the Salt Gum Baptist Church. Early in life, Armarita earned her nursing degree and worked at the Barbourville Hospital for a number of years. Later she worked at the Knox County Health Dept. before retiring. Armarita was an animal lover and enjoyed her pets. She also loved to work in her garden and can the vegetables that she grew. She also loved to cook for her family, loved to read and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all her family.
She is survived by her daughter Katherine Bingham and her son Michael Mills, three grandchildren, Matthew Bingham, Samantha Jones and husband Chris and Benjamin Mills and wife Liz, two great-grandchildren, Christopher Jones, Jr and Talen Mills. She also leaves behind many other extended family and friends to mourn her passing.
The family would like to send special thanks to the Knox County Home Health staff and the Bluegrass Hospice Nurses for all their care.
Funeral services for Armarita will be conducted in the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kennon Roark officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Ben in the Long Tom Mills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Jones, Benjamin Mills, Kenny Wynn, Danny Smith, Tony Mills and Glen Mills. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
