Viola Broughton (Smith) Eaves

             Mrs. Viola Broughton Eaves age 64 of Barbourville departed this life on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Barbourville ARH. She was the wife of Kenneth Eaves and the daughter of the late William Finley Smith and Ruby Miller Smith. She was born on August 23, 1954 in Pineville, Kentucky. She was a member of the Brown’s Branch Holiness Church and was a homemaker. She loved the ocean and working in her flowers.

            She is preceded in death by her parents, William Finley and Ruby Smith, one daughter Donna Gail Baker, a grandson, Travis Gray, two sisters, Stella Smith and Sylvia Bingham and one brother, Darrell Smith.

            Left behind to mourn her passing, her husband Kenneth Eaves of Barbourville, two sons, Larry Broughton and Jimmy Baker and wife Audrey all of Dewitt, a daughter Kathleen Broughton and husband Donald of Barbourville, four grandchildren, Jacob & Dylan Baker, Cameron Broughton and Joshua Gray, four great grandchildren, Callie Gray, Katdonna Gray , Madison Gray and Axil Baker, three brothers, Harold Smith and wife Donna of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Wayne Smith and wife Louise of Turkey Creek and Finley Smith and wife Charlotte of Road Fork, six sisters, Shirley Martin and husband Paul of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Carolyn Williamson and husband Larry of Gray, Geraldine Mills and husband Gary of Flat Lick, Pearl Gambrel and husband Everett of Moore’s Creek and Ludenia Mills and husband Danny also of Moore’s Creek and Donna Mills and husband Scott of Barbourville. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.  

           Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Broughton Eaves will be conducted on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stoney Brown, Rev. Roy Vaughn and Rev. Steven Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. She will be laid to rest in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

          Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
