Mary J Reece

Mrs. Mary Jenita Reece age 82 of LaGrange, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, December 24, 2017 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Louisville.  She was born on January 5, 1935 in Greenroad, Kentucky to the late James Curtis Lawson and Millie Jane (Marion) Lawson. She was preceded in death by her first husband James Gartland and by her second husband, Terry Reece; her sisters Mae Jones and Carolyn Sue Lawson, her brothers Sammy Lawson, James Curtis Lawson, Jr.  and Donald Lawson, sisters-in-law Wilma Lawson and Wanda Lawson.  Mary was a member of LaGrange Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed being with her family, camping, cooking, quilting and jigsaw puzzles.

Left behind to mourn her passing are her daughter Mary (Gartland) Jones and her husband Ronald (LaGrange, KY), five brothers T.J. Lawson (Heidrick, KY), Billy Ray Lawson and wife Thelma (Heidrick, KY), Jack Lawson and wife Brenda (Flat Lick, KY), Enoch Lawson and wife Kathy (Boone Height, KY), Jim Horton and wife Barbara (Indiana), five grandchildren Mamie Finewood and husband Corey, Mandy Jones and friend Troy, Michelle Schwarz and husband Jimmy, Daniel Jones and wife Shelby, Justin Jones, four great grandchildren Madison Fultz, Lexi Finewood, Cooper Finewood and Clark Schwarz.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary J. Reece will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Chris Young and Rev. Johnny Fisher officiating.  Burial will be in the Hammons Cemetery in Girdler, KY.  Cobb Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at Cobb Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
