Leonard Olen Jones

Mr. Leonard Olen Jones, age 80, departed this life on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at his home in Girdler, Kentucky. He was the husband of Flossie (Mills) Jones and the son of Gentry and Nora (Burton) Jones. Leonard was born on April 5, 1939.  He was a member of the Baptist faith and worked in the medical supply area at Knox County Hospital. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Gentry and Nora (Burton) Jones, brothers and sisters George T. Jones, Calvin Jones, Sam Jones, Luster Jones, Green Tom Jones, William Jason Jones, Hester Warren, Verni Messer, Cecil Smith and Clara Warren.

Left behind to mourn his passing, his loving wife Flossie (Mills) Jones of Girdler, Kentucky son Dennis Jones and wife Katina of Girdler, Kentucky, grandson Conner Jones, brothers and sisters Marcella Reed of Westchester, Ohio, Doris Watson of Lexington, Kentucky, Eliza Manning of Corbin, Kentucky, John Jones of Tuttle, Kentucky, Alvin Jones of Gray, Kentucky, Gladys Rosetti of Clemons, Maryland, Irma Fee-McCoy of Las Vegas, Nevada, Brenda Breck of Girdler, Kentucky, Patty Abner of Lexington, Kentucky, James Jones of Barbourville, Kentucky, and Janet Gibson of Girdler, Kentucky, and special friends Chris McVey, Aaron Gray, Larry Bruner and Joey Warren.  He also leaves behind a host of many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. Leonard Olen Jones will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Lonnie Collett and Reverend Mickey Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be his nephews.  He will be laid to rest in the Hammons Cemetery at Greenroad, Kentucky. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday, August 18, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
