Ethel Barnes

Ethel Barnes, age 75, of Girdler, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Corbin Health and Rehabilitation in Corbin, Kentucky.  She was the daughter of Walter and Ida Owens Elam, born to them on December 30, 1943 in Barbourville, Kentucky.  She was a member of the Baptist faith and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Ida Elam, son Tim Barnes and daughter Mary Barnes.

Left behind to mourn her passing are sons David Barnes and wife Sherry of London, Kentucky, Morris Barnes of Girdler, Kentucky, nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, brother Jim Elam and wife Mary Lou of London, Kentucky, and sister Tina Jones of Gray, Kentucky.  She is also survived by many relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Ethel Barnes will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Lonnie Collett officiating.  Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery in Sublimity Hollow.  Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
