Mr. Earl Allery Shupe, Jr. better known as Al, age 66 of Girdler, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at his home. He was the husband of Linda (Smith) Shupe and the son of Earl Allery Shupe and Minnie (Swafford) Shupe born to them on January 23, 1952. He had been a truck driver during his life, hauling coal, concrete and gravel. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl & Minnie Shupe, one brother Robert Shupe and one sister Connie Willett.
Survivors include his wife of over forty-one years, Linda Shupe of Girdler, three sons, Michael Shupe and wife Chasity of Henderson, KY, Brandon Shupe and wife Brenda of Girdler and Jathan Shupe of Oak Ridge, TN, one sister, Phyllis Orcut of Dallas, Texas and a special sister, Sherry Smith of Girdler, nine grandchildren, Enoch, Heavenly, Ariana, Brandon II, Gabriel, Elza, Harley, Kash and Cyrus Shupe. He also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and dear friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. “Al” Shupe will be conducted on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Corey Cobb officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Shupe, Brandon Shupe, Jathan Shupe, Shannon Smith, Timmy Smith and Enoch Shupe. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Smith, Byron Carter, Stacy Smith and Lloyd Smith, Jr. He will be laid to rest in the Stacy Cemetery at Girdler. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
