Clinton Alvin Jones

Mr. Clinton Alvin Jones, age 75, departed this life on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky.  He was the son of Gentry and Nora (Burton) Jones, born to them on January 28, 1944 in Knox County, Kentucky.  On April 9, 1966 he was united in marriage to Helen Chadwell and to this union three children were born, Kim, Melissa and Diane.  Clinton was a member of the Baptist faith, attended New Covenant Church in Gray, Kentucky and worked in the maintenance department of Tremco.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and University of Kentucky basketball.

He is preceded in death by his parents Gentry and Nora (Burton) Jones, brothers and sisters Leonard Jones, George T. Jones, Calvin Jones, Sam Jones, Luster Jones, Green Tom Jones, William Jason Jones, Hester Warren, Verni Messer, Cecil Smith and Clara Warren.

Left behind to mourn his passing, his daughters Diane Jones Murphy of Boone Height, Kentucky, Kim Jones Smith and husband Ralph of Boone Height, Kentucky, and Melissa Jones Frost and husband Michael of Gray, Kentucky; grandchildren Brandon Frost and fiancé Linda Adams of Gray, Kentucky, Robert Frost and wife Brandie of Gray, Kentucky, Josh Murphy of Boone Height, Kentucky, Jobeth Bingham of Roanoke, Virginia, Brittany Lewis and husband Derek of London, Kentucky, Mike Frost and wife Elisa of Barbourville, Kentucky and Jamie Miller and husband Shannon of Barbourville, Kentucky; great grandchildren Trevor Frost, Jamison Frost, Kenlynn Frost, Kennedy Frost, Kensley Adams, Athena Lewis, Whitney Frost, Emma Frost, Devin Miller and Damian Miller; brothers and sisters Marcella Reed of Westchester, Ohio, Doris Watson of Lexington, Kentucky, Eliza Manning of Corbin, Kentucky, John Jones and wife Betty of Tuttle, Kentucky, Gladys Rosetta and husband Joe of Clements, Maryland, Irma Fee-McCoy of Las Vegas, Nevada, Brenda Brock and husband Fount of Girdler, Kentucky, Janet Gibson and husband Larry of Greenroad, Kentucky, Patty Abner and husband Eugene of Barbourville, Kentucky, and James Jones of Barbourville, Kentucky.  He also leaves behind a host of many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. Clinton Alvin Jones will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Ed Wayne Gibson and Reverend Mickey Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Robert Frost, Brandon Frost, Josh Murphy, Mike Frost, Chris Bonham and Matthew Cooke.  He will be laid to rest in the Chadwell Cemetery on Sublimity Hollow at Girdler, Kentucky.  Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 p.m.
