Rev. B. R. Smith

Rev. B.R. Smith age 90 of Flat Lick, KY departed this life on Monday, September 11, 2017 in the Knox Co. Hospital. He was the widower of Cleadie Smith and the son of Burchell and Maude Smith born to them on February 26, 1927 in Barnyard, KY. He had been a minister for over fifty years and was a member of the Hinkle Branch Holiness Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife along with two sons, Baby Boy Smith and Ricky Smith and two daughters, Carolyn & Maudie Smith, one grandchild, two brothers, James & Leonard Smith and one sister, Doris Broughton.

Left behind to mourn his passing, three sons, Willis Smith and wife Debbie of Bimble, Willard Smith of Flat Lick and Bill D. Smith of Rochester Hills, Michigan, three daughters, Roeann Rice and husband Bill of Keavy, KY, Patricia Bargo and husband Linville of Flat Lick and Mildred Reid of Barbourville, eight brothers and sisters, Dorothy Messer of Michigan, William Smith and wife Shirley of Indiana, Aaron Smith and wife Mabel of Tennessee, Paul Smith and wife Zelma of Florida, Curtis Smith of Barbourville, Harvey (H.R.)Smith and wife Emma Lee of  Barbourville, Geneva Homer and husband Dave of Florida and Betty Miracle and husband Charles of Tennessee. He also leaves behind seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Rev.  B. R. Smith will be conducted in the Cobb Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Frazier, Rev. Charles Bright and Larry Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at the Henry Mills Cemetery on Road Fork. Cobb Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
