Joycelene (Messer) Farris

          Mrs. Joycelene Farris age 78 of Cannon, KY departed this life on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. She was born on March 19, 1939 in Callebs Creek and was the daughter of the late Ellis and Nancy (Hammons) Messer.  She was a member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

         She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellis & Nancy Messer, two brothers, Crit Messer and Bob Messer, two infant sisters, Mittie Allice and Love Messer and another sister Linda Mills and two sisters in law, Helen Messer and Louise Messer.

          Left behind to mourn her passing, her loving husband of fifty-four years, John Farris of Canon,  a son Christopher Farris of Richmond, and one daughter, Anita Freeman of Cannon, two grandchildren, one sister Ona Mae Taylor of Bimble, KY and five brothers, Floyd Messer and wife Jewell of Girdler, Creed Messer and wife Virginia of Louisville, Tip Messer of Hinkle, Larry Messer and wife Marsha of Cannon and Alvin Messer and wife Lois of Girdler. She also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

          Funeral services for Mrs. Joycelene Farris will be conducted in the Cobb Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Lonnie Collett and Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. She will be laid to rest in the Callebs Creek Cemetery at Hinkle. Cobb Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

          Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
