Ethel Marie McDonald

Mrs. Ethel Marie McDonald age 81 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Monday, October 23, 2017 in the Appalachian Regional Health Hospital, Barbourville, KY. She was the wife of the late Jess McDonald and the daughter of the late Henderson Gray and Lily (Mills) Gray, born to them on September 9, 1936. She was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle.  Marie was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time outside on the porch with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jess McDonald, her parents Henderson Gray and Lily (Mills) Gray, her son Roger McDonald, great granddaughters Ashley McDonald and Taylor McDonald, and brothers Martin Gray, Ralph Gray, Otis Gray and Ballard Gray.

Left behind to mourn her passing are her son Michael McDonald of Barbourville, daughter Christy Hamilton and husband Gary of Barbourville, daughter-in-law Carol McDonald of Barbourville, brother Leonard Gray and wife Carol of Barbourville, grandchildren Roger McDonald, Jr. and wife Jennifer, Jessica McDonald Logan and husband Jerry, Whitney McDonald and Autumn Hamilton, her great grandchildren Dalton Hunter McDonald, Morgan Faith Logan, Kaitlyn Hope McDonald, Bentley Mills, McKenzie Messer and a special nephew Ryan Yother.  Honorary pallbearers will be the doctors, nurses and staff of Appalachian Regional Health Hospital, Barbourville, KY.  She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Marie McDonald will be conducted in the Cobb Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Ray Dean, Reverend Jimmy Lee and Reverend David Stevens officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Gray, Robbie Hembree, Jerry Logan, Ronnie Gray, Eddie Hamilton and Ryan Yother.  She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.  Cobb Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Cobb Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
