Mr. Carl Mills, age 72 of the Girdler Community in Barbourville, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at his home. He was a son of the late Lloyd and Ada Hubbard Mills, born to them on Friday, June 21, 1945 in Knox County. Mr. Mills was a former truck driver for the Mills Garbage Company and was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. He was a farmer and greatly enjoyed playing horse shoes, four-wheeling, fishing and hunting.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Mills.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Mills of Girdler; One son, Jerry Mills (Patty) of Girdler; Four daughters: Dorothy Smith (Charles Nichols) of London; Carol Deaton (Terry) of Heidrick; Chelica Barnes (Morris) of Girdler; Ann Jones (Nathaniel) of Walker Park Road in Barbourville; One brother; Arnold Mills (Louise) of Girdler; Two sisters: June Mills of Girdler and Oda Mae Mills (R.J.) of Girdler; Eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mr. Mills is also survived by a host of friends and relatives left behind to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. Carl Mills will be conducted at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Owen Smith and Rev. Nathaniel Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Mills Family Cemetery at Girdler with Denver Mills, Scotty McGhee, Bobby Mills, Dustin Smith, Nathan Nolan, Tim Nevels, Shane McVey and Jerry Mills serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Friday, August 4, 2017 after 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., on Saturday, August 5, 2017 after 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. and on Sunday, August 6, 2017 after 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at 2:00 P.M.
