Bill “Pap” Cain fell peacefully asleep on June 24, 2017 at Cain Farm and awoke at his eternal home in Glory. Awaiting his arrival at Heaven’s gates were his daughter Margaret Cain Bruce, his mother Maggie Beams Cain, his father Homer Cain, his mother in law, Myrtle Messer, and his grandson and namesake, Billy Ryan Cain.

Pap’s life here on this earth is one that will be remembered with a smile by all that knew him and he will continue to live on through many loved ones. Those left to fulfill Pap’s legacy are his wife and life partner of 68 years, Dorothy Messer Cain and his beloved son’s Larry G. Cain, Billy G. Cain and wife Donna, all of Barbourville, Kentucky, Stephen Dewayne Cain and wife Juanita of Calvin, Kentucky.

The only things that Pap loved and enjoyed more than work was serving his Savior and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Grandchildren; Joshua G. Cain and wife Brooke, Danielle Cain Bridgewater and husband Barrett, Zachary Cain and wife Brianna, Donovan Cain and wife Audrey, Larry Hinkle and wife Kelly, James “Art” Hinkle, Maggie Hinkle Smith, John Hinkle and wife Lisa, also, beloved sister Ms. Lelia Mae McReynolds, Stephanie D. Napier and husband David, Timothy D. Cain and wife Rebekah, Travis D. Cain and wife Renee. Greatgrandchildren; Peyton Hinkle, Hunter Hinkle, Makayla Hinkle, Kaitlyn Hinkle, Haven Hinkle, Sara Hinkle, Alex Smith, Cain Smith, Camden Smith, Zoey Hale, Abbie Cain, Erin Cain, Aoife Cain, Blakely Bridgewater, Harlyn Cain, Sophie Cain, and his side kick at the farm, Levi Cain, Cassidy Napier, Kailey Napier, Campbell Cain, Croley Cain, Kylie Cain, and Luke Cain.  And his special friend Tammy Bruce and his special work family at Bestwestern Motel.

The light of the Lord surely beamed through Pap with a smile that is unforgettable and a laugh that was music to anyone’s ears. He truly loved the Lord and he showed it through his kindness to others. Oh how he delighted in growing his garden and the joy he received each year as he shared his harvest. He loved to farm his land along with Larry, Billy, and Josh. We will never forget all the stories he told of yester years and the sweet memories with our Pap.

Pallbearers will be Josh Cain, Larry Hinkle, Zachary Cain, Art Hinkle, John Hinkle, Peyton Hinkle, Timothy Cain, and Cain Smith.  Honorary Pallbearers will be all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
