Anita Chadwell

Anita Chadwell, age 86 of the Girdler Community, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018, in the Barbourville Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was a daughter of the late Sam Bear Jones and Virginia Martin Jones, born to them on July 16, 1931, in Girdler, Kentucky. In August of 1950, she united in marriage to Ralph Chadwell and to this union, seven children were born. Anita was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church, where she loved spending time with her church family and especially loved her pastor David. Anita enjoyed cooking, watching and supporting WLJC as well as supporting St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and siblings.

Along with her parents, Anita is preceded in death by one son Larry Wayne Chadwell; a brother, Harold Jones and a grandson, Dustin Chadwell. 

She is survived by her loving husband of over 67 years, Ralph Chadwell Sr. of Girdler; Her sons: Ralph Donald Chadwell Jr.  and wife Debbie of Cranes Nest; Kenneth Carl Chadwell and wife Sherri of Girdler and Christopher Chadwell and wife Heather of Girdler: Her daughters; Cathy Stovall and husband Charles of Girdler, Lisa Carmack and husband Wendell of Manchester and Teresa Bingham and husband Mike of Bimble: One brother, Donald Jones and wife Maureen of Greenroad; Two sisters, Wanda Hohman of Girdler and Phyllis Mason of Greenroad: One sister-in-law, Bobbie Warren and a daughter-in-law Dennia Chadwell, both of Girdler. Anita is also survived by 20 loving grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service for Anita Chadwell will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. David Barnard and Rev. Johnathan Carmack officiating. Those serving as honorary pallbearers will be Anita’s loving grandsons: Larry David Chadwell, Chuckie Stovall, Scott Stovall, Joshua Chadwell, Daniel Chadwell, Blaine Wyatt, Brandon Bingham, Johnathan Carmack, Chad Carmack, Dawson Bingham, Braxton Chadwell, Gavin Chadwell and Trae Wyatt.  

Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday, after 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 2:00 P.M.
